Veolia has been catering to Shangri la since 2008 with complete handling of wastes from BOH, Restaurant, serviced apartments, hotel and guest access areas.
The growing waste recycling and segregation needs every year has been a challenge that Qaryat Al Beri has taken up alongside its waste management services provider, Veolia.
| Veolia’s solution
Veolia has introduced a customized waste management plan supported by a waste reduction plan with the aim not only to achieve the 75% waste diversion from the landfill but to overtake the same target.
The waste management plan comprises among the other points:
- An effective collection schedule per type of waste;
- Site plan and operation plan for skips and containers in compliance with client’s requirements in terms of central waste collection area;
- Timely reporting in compliance with CWM Abu Dhabi;
- Dedicated and experienced waste management staff onsite.

Operations implementation plans have been developed customized for the hospitality group in order to achieve the recycling and waste diversion from landfill. Veolia provides competent, trained and experienced waste management sorting staff on site. The staff has helped train the onsite customer representatives on importance of waste segregation and recycling.
Qaryat Al Beri group as part of the Abu Dhabi hospitality sector and one of the five star resort needs business continuity in terms of hygiene management and timely waste collection. Veolia has provided customized scheduling plan to the customer in order to make sure the site remains hygienic, standards on site are met and zero non-conformances are raised in Environmental management.
