A COMPACT SOLUTION TO ELIMINATE WASTEWATER TREATMENT IN THE AVAILABLE FACTORY AREA WITHOUT FURTHER LAND INVESTMENT. Modern Karton Pulp & Paper factory, located near Istanbul in Turkey, is one of the biggest paper producers of Europe with the 630,000 tons/annum capacity to be duplicated up to a million tons/annum in first quarter 2015 through a large investment of new Paper Mill.

Veolia provided a solution based on the technological combination of the anaerobic The Biobed® EGSB technology (Expanded Granular Sludge Bed) + flash aeration and the AnoxKaldnes™ MBBR technology followed by Dissolved Air Flotation Units.
 


The AnoxKaldnes™MBBR allows expanding capacity with a plant’s footprint by 75% smaller compared to classical activated sludge systems.
 
Veolia brought a tailor made solution enabling Modern Karton to reuse its treated wastewater with harmless discharge to receiving environment.

The reuse plant will further treat the effluent of the wastewater treatment plant that will meet the most stringent levels of treatment for process water. The technologies implemented in Reuse Plant are patented Mutiflo™, ultrafiltration, activated carbon filtration, and reverse osmosis.
